The cost of education in this country is ridiculous and there is no greater reminder of that then the mountains of federal student loan debt millions of Americans are struggling to pay off. But after siphoning your paycheck, Social Security benefits and tax returns, the government has found a new way of getting back its money: lawsuits. That’s right: The government is hiring private debt collection law firms to sue you to collect their money. And surprise: They’re going after the people with the least means to pay.
