Mike Dubke, the White House Communications Director, resigned earlier this week. While a shakeup in the communications staff was expected, most believed that it would be Sean Spicer that would get the axe. Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins discusses this.

Earlier this week, White House Communications Director, Mike Dubke, resigned. Now this was not a shock to many people. We had known for several weeks before Donald Trump went on his overseas tour that there was going to be some kind of shakeup within the White House Communications Department. But nobody expected it to be Dubke, this guy that most people have never even heard of.
You know, he’s not the one going out there everyday, getting in front of the cameras, and making a complete ass of himself. That title goes to Sean Spicer. Spicer is the one that everybody thought certainly was going to be on the chopping block. Yet here we are. As of right now, Sean Spicer still has a job. Sean Spicer, a guy who on Tuesday during his White House press briefing, couldn’t answer a yes or no question as to whether or not Donald Trump believed that human beings were causing climate change. Sean Spicer, a guy who couldn’t directly answer questions about what constitutes as fake news in Donald Trump’s mind. Sean Spicer, the guy who is ridiculed every week almost on Saturday Night Live, those particular skits that are giving Donald Trump the fits. Yet he gets to keep his job. The man who hid in the bushes, so that nobody could ask him questions on camera, gets to keep his job.
Now look, I don’t like necessarily to see people fired. I understand how hard it is to find a job in this country. But when you’re as bad at your job as a guy like Sean Spicer, if you cannot handle that position and the pressures that come with it, if you’re unable to perform your tasks as assigned to you, then you should not keep your job.
Spicer has proven time and time again, he can’t handle this. Now he hasn’t necessarily gone as far as Darrell Issa, hiding on a rooftop to avoid people, but hiding in the bushes is pretty damn close to it. So as of right now, Spicer keeps his job. Sarah Huckabee Sanders keeps her job. Steve Bannon has a job. The only person that gets the boot really chose to resign, whatever happened happened, Mike Dubke. I say whatever happens happens, because we don’t know if he was pressured to resign. We don’t know if he just got sick of it. We don’t know if he’s got a better opportunity out there. We don’t know if he was just really, really pressured to get the hell out of there.
But we do know that from the start, Donald Trump’s entire communications team has been an absolute disaster. But if you’re looking for the root cause of that disaster, I don’t think it was Dubke. Pretty sure Sean Spicer is the one who has continuously screwed things up and, to be honest, made things even worse for the Trump administration.
