Despite the lead water crisis in Flint, Michigan, and numerous other U.S. cities, we at least have EPA regulations in place to track what are acceptable levels of lead and other harmful chemicals in our water. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for perfluorochemicals, or PFCs, cancer-causing manmade chemicals which can be found in everything from shampoo and makeup, to the foam used to extinguish fires at airports and military bases. While over 15 million Americans in nearly 30 states have PFCs in their water, there’s still no real gauge on the safe limit of PFCs in our water from our government. And if you’re wondering whether you have PFCs in your body, wonder no more–you definitely do. Correspondent Natalie McGill has more on this unchecked danger in the latest Redacted Tonight.
