Marco Rubio, the man who swore he wasn’t going to run for re-election because he hated his job, is now complaining about the fact that the White House seems to have too much “friction” and “drama”. For those of us who have been paying attention, the scandals at the White House have gone far beyond the realm of “drama” and have become full blown crises. Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins discusses this.

This past weekend on CBS’s Face the Nation, Republican Senator Marco Rubio said that he wishes the White House could come up with a better way to deal with all the craziness that seems to be happening. Specifically, Rubio says that the White House needs to work on reducing the friction within their administration and cutting back on some of the drama coming out of the administration. Right? I mean, that’s the word he used to categorize what’s happening in the White House. All this drama. You know, Sean Spicer and Steve Bannon and Kellyanne Conway, they need to get their messages in sync. That is what Rubio was talking about. He said, “The White House doesn’t have a really good communications team.” Nobody’s on the same page and it creates this drama.
Well, Marco, the man who actually said he wasn’t going to run for reelection because he absolutely hated his job, but then he ran for reelection anyway because nobody wanted him to be President. It’s not drama, it’s scandal. It’s not friction, it’s incompetence. There is a world of difference between friction and drama and gross incompetence and borderline criminal activity, which is what we’re seeing from the Trump White House.
Now I know you don’t want to classify it as such, because you’re a Republican and Trump’s a Republican. Trump is your brand, Marco, whether you want him to be or not. In this same interview, he says, “People get what they voted for,” echoing what President Obama said a couple weeks ago, because God knows Marco Rubio can’t come up with his own talking points. But the fact of the matter is, Rubio, the same wave of Tea Party anger and government resentment that helped get you elected in the first place is what brought us Donald Trump. You helped pave the way for all this drama and friction coming out of the White House, so don’t go on national media, act like you’re somehow above this or better than this, when you helped create this.
Again, don’t you dare categorize this as simply drama. Okay? What we see from reality television, that’s drama. People that just can’t get along and hate each other. That’s not what’s happening in the White House. What’s happening in the White House is that it’s imploding under the weight of it’s own scandals.
So call it what it is, Marco. Call it gross incompetence. Call it potential collusion with foreign powers. But don’t sit there and tell us that they need to work on cutting back on the drama.
