Glenn Beck, ultra-conservative talking head, has come forth and admitted that liberals were right when protesting American military action in Iraq over a decade ago. We’re just as shocked as you are.

Beck was discussing the divide between the left and right on Tuesday’s installment of his radio show, The Blaze: “From the beginning, most people on the left were against going into Iraq. I wasn’t . . . Liberals, you were right. We shouldn’t have.” Not only did he admit that we, liberals, were right, but he also railed against further intervention regarding the recent violence that has erupted in the country.

“Not one more life. Not one more dollar, not one more airplane, not one more buller, not one more Marine, not one more arm or leg or eye,” said Beck. “Not one more. This must end now. Now can’t we come together on that?”

Beck’s statement that the invasion was a bad idea and that we shouldn’t do anything else in Iraq does, however, still play into the anti-Obama narrative where conservatives will go with any opinion, as long as it disagrees with Obama’s actions. The day before Beck admitted liberals were right, Obama announced the deployment of 275 troops to handle security. Secretary of State John Kerry also said the White House may conduct drone strikes.

The words spoken by Beck were correct. But whether it’s genuine or not can still stand to be questioned.
