Halloween is coming up, and instances of people wearing Ray Rice and Adrian Peterson costumes have already been making the rounds on the internet.
Last night, ESPN’s Keith Olberman called the people who have chosen to turn domestic and child abuse into costumes “mindless troglodytes.” He chastised a couple who donned “blackface” for their portrayal of Rice and his wife Janay, whom he was caught on tape knocking unconscious in an Atlantic City elevator.
Olberman also brought up a man who wore an Peterson jersey and carried a doll and a “switch.” Peterson was suspended indefinitely earlier this year amid an investigation that Peterson abused his two-year child, leaving welts, bruises, and breaking the skin with a stick.
