It recently came out that new House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) was once a speaker at a white supremacist convention affiliated with David Duke, a former Louisiana state representative and Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan.
Of course, Scalise maintains he did not know the conference at which he was speaking was for a white supremacist group, claiming to “wholeheartedly” condemn their views.
Given how famous Duke was in Louisiana – he once even ran for governor, it’s hard to believe that Scalise didn’t actually know where he was speaking that day.
