In 2008, millionaire financier Jeffrey Epstein was sentenced to just 18 months in prison for solicitation of prostitution from minors, despite evidence and allegations that he had girls as young as 12 flown in from across the world for sexual activity.
In 2009, Epstein’s former house manager Alfredo Rodriguez tried to sell Epstein’s address book to one of the attorneys who was representing Epstein’s victims. Rodriguez described the book as the “Holy Grail” or “Golden Nugget” that would blow open the case over Epstein’s child sex trafficking ring.
The attorney, rather than purchasing the book, contacted the FBI, and Rodriguez was charged with obstruction of justice. He was, coincidentally, also sentenced to 18 months in prison for his crime.
According to an FBI affidavit obtained by Gawker, Rodriguez had made annotations in the book that provided “information material to the underlying investigation that would have been extremely useful in investigating and prosecuting the case, including the names and contact information of material witnesses and additional victims.”
Rodriguez died in December, which means that many of the questions regarding the notes he made in the book will go unanswered. What is known, however, is that there were dozens of very powerful and famous people in Epstein’s book, including “scores of underage victims in Florida, New Mexico, California, Paris, and the United Kingdom listed under the rubric of ‘massage,’” Gawker reported, along with publishing the book in full (with address, phone numbers, and names of potential underage victims redacted).
Among the entries circled (without explanation) by Rodriguez are:
- Flavio Briatore, Italian millionaire and former boyfriend of supermodel Heidi Klum
- Jean Luc Brunel, owner of MC2 modeling agency
- Courtney Love, lead singer of the band Hole
- Peter Soros, son of millionaire engineer and businessman Paul Soros
- Ghislaine Maxwell, British socialite and Epstein’s former girlfriend
- Alberto Pinto, Epstein’s late interior designer
- an address and handwritten note reading “apt. for models”
- Ehud Barak, Prime Minister of Israel from 1999-2001
- Alan Dershowitz, Epstein’s lawyer also accused of having sex with an underage girl
- Cindy (Buklarewicz) Lopez, of Karin Models
- Donald Trump
- Larry Visoski, labeled “chief pilot”
- Les Wexner, CEO of the L Brands (formerly Limited Brands) Corporation
- an entry under “Cleaners” with the note “witness” written under it
- Christopher Gaie, also with the “witness” note
- Former New Mexico governors Bruce King and Bill Richardson
- Several entries with names and phone numbers labeled “massage” in New Mexico, the UK, Paris, and the US Virgin Islands
