Former Arkansas governor and failed 2008 presidential candidate Mike Huckabee (R) will announce next week that he is officially running for president in 2016. An announcement video, however, has already been released.
In the video, titled “Nailed Shut,” Huckabee talks about coming into “Clinton’s Arkansas” and how he had to fight against the Democratic majority left behind after Bill Clinton’s tenure in Little Rock. He does so with a somewhat strange analogy about drunk rednecks and fighting.
“Any drunken redneck can walk into a bar and start a fight. A leader only starts a fight that he’s prepared to finish.”
What is that even supposed to mean? Is he comparing governing a state/country to beating people up?
Watch the full video and see if you can figure it out.
