During a recent panel discussion at Georgetown University, President Obama singled out Fox News as a particularly grievous purveyor of vitriol toward the poor and indigent in this country. Bill O’Reilly, in his standard fashion, attempted to respond on behalf of the entire network, pretending that he was the lone man standing up to an oppressive bully.
“Some objected to the president singling out Fox News. Not me,” O’Reilly said. “If the president has a beef with us, I want to hear it. And I’d like to talk to him about poverty.”
O’Reilly’s team made quick work of the President’s full remarks with slick editing. The full panel discussion, which is quite insightful, is available at the bottom of this post.
“However, the dishonest media took up the president’s remarks with glee,” O’Reilly concluded.
O’Reilly this singles out Charles Blow, a columnist for The New York Times, as his example of the “dishonest” media attacking Fox News and spends the rest of his time criticizing Blow and Blow’s manhood rather than addressing the specific complaints that President Obama and the “dishonest” media leveled against them.
“Blow accuses me and Fox News of denigrating helpless individuals in a cruel and callous way,” O’Reilly continued.
