Bill Donahue, president of the Catholic League stated earlier this week that Catholics will rightly ignore the pope when it comes to the issue of climate change. The Pope has stated that climate change is one of the perils the world must overcome.
When discussing the issue with Newsmax, Bill Donahue said that the pope should stick to “faith and morals”.
Once you get beyond that, can you speak to other issues? Of course you can speak to other issues, but I don’t care whether it’s Pope Francis or his predecessors or his successors some day, once you get outside the domain of faith and morals, be careful. Be careful and be careful particularly when you get into the weeds and get very specific.
Watch.
