Last week, the Senate finally voted to outlaw the use of torture. This was a largely symbolic vote considering the fact that torture has always been illegal for the United States due to our agreements in international treaties, but it does signal an end to the era of the CIA’s torture practices that Bush implemented during his war on terror.
