Republican Senator Ted Cruz, appearing on Sean Hannity, stated that the two Supreme Court decisions upholding gay marriage and Obamacare are: “some of the darkest 24 hours in our nation’s history.” Hannity agreed, saying, “I couldn’t say it more eloquently.”
Cruz, are you absolutely the most delusional person running for president, in a GOP field that already makes The Three Stooges appear to be geniuses? Below are just a small set of days that you thought were not as bleak as your distorted views on homosexuality and universal healthcare:
- May 23, 1838: The Trail of Tears begins with the forced relocation of the Cherokees to the Western United States, by gunpoint over three weeks, and gathered together in camps. More than 4,000 died during the journey.
- March 6, 1857: The U.S. Supreme Court ruled in the Dred Scott decision that people of African descent brought to America as slaves (and their descendants) were not protected by the Constitution, and instead were property.
- April 15, 1865: Assassination of Abraham Lincoln
- October 29, 1929: Corporate greed caused the stock market crash, and spiraled America into the Great Depression
- December 7, 1941: The attack on Pearl Harbor
- November 22, 1963: Assassination of John F. Kennedy
- April 4, 1968: Assassination of Martin Luther King
- June 6, 1968: Assassination of Robert F. Kennedy
- September 11, 2001: The Word Trade Center Towers are attacked by extremists
- March 19, 2003: The U.S. illegally, without provocation, and without United Nations support, invades Iraq
