The removal of the Confederate Flag in areas of the South has been a major step in putting the past where it belongs – behind us. But on the flip side, it has also given the racist fringe in the South a new zest for activism, and their hateful displays of anger have only intensified since the flag started to come down. The problems in the South stretch far beyond the symbol of the Confederate Flag, and those are the areas where we need to re-focus our attention as we move forward.
