The political cycle is just ramping up, but lobbyists want to make sure they stay ahead of the game. In the last three months, the top ten lobbying groups have spent $87 million trying to buy votes.
Here is the hall of shame:
- U.S. Chamber of Commerce — $23 million
- American Medical Association — $12.4 million
- Boeing — $9.3 million
- General Electric – $8.5 million
- National Association of Realtor — $8.2 million
- Business Roundtable — $6.4 million
- National Association of Manufacturers — $4.8 million
- American Hospital Association — $4.8 million
- Google — $4.6 million
Interestingly, the American Medical Association, Boeing, and Business Roundtable each spent more in the last three months than in any quarter since 2008.
