Fox News contributor Michelle Fields said “we shouldn’t be giving money to people just because they’re old,” when defending the idea of completely cutting Social Security. There’s a serious disconnect here. Most Fox News viewers are elderly conservatives. However, this is the kind of mindless drivel that their beloved Fox News bolsters.
Republicans don’t care about the needs of the elderly and the poor. At this point, by supporting the GOP, elderly conservatives should not complain when Congress eventually takes away their social security payments; or privatizes it and uses the money to bail out bankrupt corporations.
