Millions of Americans get riled up and upset at the subject of income inequality because it’s a dangerous phenomenon that affects 90 percent of the country. However, Former Treasury Secretaries Robert Rubin, Henry Paulson and Timothy Geithner think it’s hilarious.
During a conference hosted by the Milken Institute earlier this year, Facebook executive Sheryl Sandberg asked the panel about income inequality. Paulson remarked he’d been working on it since being at Goldman Sachs, and Geithner said “in which direction?”
As the audience and the panel erupted with laughter, Rubin added that Paulson was “increasing it.”
They all had a good laugh, but not everyone else in America finds it so funny. The pomposity begins at about the 36:00 minute mark.
