After a bizarre scandal played out surrounding two Tea Party politicians caught in an affair, they are now out of government. One of them has been kicked out and the other resigned.
Todd Courser and Cindy Gamrat’s affair was discovered after one of Courser’s former aides released a recording of Courser discussing his plans for a coverup of the affair. Courser’s plan included lying that he had been involved with a male prostitute. Courser’s theory was that if enough ridiculous stories about him were online, no one would believe when news of the affair was released.
Todd Courser has resigned following the recommendation of the Michigan legislature’s special panel:
A special panel has recommended the expusion for MI Reps. Todd Courser and Cindy Gamrat following a sex scandal.
The recommendation will now go to the Michigan House for a vote this afternoon.
Cindy Gamrat was expelled by a 91-12 vote on Friday.
