Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders (I-VT) was shown a tremendous amount of support to his campaign this past Tuesday in response to a desperate attempt, by Pro-Clinton Super PAC’s, to lower his favorability among voters. In a time span of fewer than 48 hours, Sanders received over $1.2 million from donors supporting his cause, reported PoliticusUSA.
“We’ve never seen an immediate donor response like what the Sanders campaign received on Tuesday. At one point, it drove 180 contributions through our platform per minute,” said Erin Hill, executive director of ActBlue, the fundraising firm. “Over its 11-year history ActBlue has sent money to over eleven-thousand campaigns and committees — and the Bernie Sanders campaign holds the record for the two biggest donor days ever for a campaign on our platform.”
This overwhelming support was in reaction to the actions of David Brock, an American journalist who was famously known for his vicious takedown of the Clinton’s and is now a spokesman for Clinton’s Super PAC. Brock led an attempt to link Sanders and Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez. The connection was merely Sanders wanting to provide residents of Vermont with affordable home heating oil supplied by the Venezuelan state-owned company, CITGO.
It now seems that Clinton-allied groups are desperate enough to try just about anything to build favorability towards Hillary.
