Rand Paul told Fox News Radio that Ted Cruz has become a worthless lawmaker to the people of Texas.
Ted has chosen to make this really personal and chosen to call people dishonest in leadership and call them names, which really goes against the decorum and also against the rules of the Senate, and as a consequence, he can’t get anything done legislative. He is pretty much done for and stifled and it’s really because of personal relationships, or lack of personal relationships, and it is a problem.
It all came to a head Monday night when Cruz wanted the Senate to vote to shut down the federal government over Planned Parenthood, and his colleagues prevented him. His fellow GOP senators were so upset with Cruz’s absurd tactics that they even denied him a “sufficient second” that would have allowed him a roll call vote. Colleagues even went so far as yelling “no” when Cruz sought a voice vote, a second repudiation demonstrating how little respect the Senate has of Cruz.
It was then that Cruz went on a tirade calling his colleague’s actions an “unprecedented procedural trick.” “What does denying a second mean? Denying a recorded vote. Why is that important?” Cruz said. “When you are breaking the commitment you’ve made to the men and women who elected you, the most painful thing in the world is accountability.”
It appears now that the only thing that Democrats and Republicans can agree on is that Ted Cruz is a complete bozo.
