The Benghazi hearing on Thursday was a real circus, and House Select Committee on Benghazi Chairman Rep Trey Gowdy (R-SC) said the investigation turned up no new information. Basically, Gowdy and the committee Republicans wasted everyone’s time.
After an 11-hour session, a reporter asked Gowdy if there were any new details regarding the Benghazi witch hunt. “Uh,” said Gowdy, searching for what to say.
“I think some of Jimmy Jordan’s questioning — well, when you say new today, we knew some of that already. We knew about the emails,” he said. “In terms of her testimony? I don’t know that she testified that much differently today than she has the previous time she testified.”
Thursday’s hearing marked the eighth investigation regarding the Benghazi attack that occurred in 2012, which is the eighth attempt by Republicans to smear Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. It’s really pathetic.
What’s more pathetic is that Gowdy said he and the committee will continue pursuing interviews with all the witnesses involved with Benghazi, which only means more taxpayer money wasted.
