David Vitter is working hard to save face with the people of Louisiana. Scandal has rocked Vitter’s campaign and John Bel Edwards isn’t playing nice with Vitter lascivious past. So to try and gain points with Republican voter, Vitter has turned to none other than the Duck Dynasty buffoons.
In a political ad, Vitter is joined by Willie Robertson of the Duck Dynasty program to speak about redemption and recovering from mistakes, alluding to Vitter’s past exploits with prostitutes. Robertson and Vitter lean hard on the Bible as telling us to forgive.
“Hey, this is Willie Robertson,” says Robertson. “David and I have been out in the woods today. I know he’s made some mistakes, but who hasn’t. The whole story of the Bible is about redemption. I’m concerned about our state.”
“That’s right Willie,” says Vitter. “What defines us in life is how we get up and earn redemption. Where we are as a state is needing to get up based on strong conservative principles, and that’s what I’m leading with.”
