The Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller apparently understands just a few things: Manure, pesticides, Jesus, and violence. What Miller doesn’t understand? Inclusivity, the internet, nuance, letting stupid stuff go, and appropriate reactions toward benign actions.

The commissioner took to his public Facebook account on Wednesday to share a pro-Christmas image with a cute message attached:

If one more person says Happy Holidays to me I just might slap them. Either tell me Merry Christmas or just don’t say anything.

Facebook commenters responded by plastering all of Miller’s posts with an avalanche of “happy holidays” and “blessed yule,” telling the government official that his comment was very un-Christ-like.

Miller has yet to comment on the situation, choosing instead to ignore the dust-up and continuing to post his many Facebook correspondences.

If one more person says Happy Holidays to me I just might slap them. Either tell me Merry Christmas or just don’t say anything.
