Update 3:30 pm CT: Chris Christie has officially suspended his campaign on Wednesday afternoon. This is according to a source who was a part of the call between Christie and his campaign where he made the announcement.

After Chris Christie’s abysmal showing at the New Hampshire primary Tuesday evening, many expected his concession speech to also be a campaign-ending speech. The tone was downtrodden, yet thankful for the support of politicians and voters, and the words “I quit” didn’t seem far from Christie’s lips.

Christie told supporters that he would be returning home for a bit to re-evaluate his campaign.

Reports began to come in on Wednesday morning from ABC which said that according to a source, Christie is expected to suspend his campaign “as early as today.” CNN has also confirmed this suspicion, citing two sources.

If for nothing else, one can be thankful to Christie for trying to keep the Republican race a bit more honest by bulldogging Marco Rubio about his robotic campaign speeches last Saturday.
