Over the last 10 years, we’ve seen plenty of examples of how the Bush Administration crippled regulatory agencies to the point where they became just an extension of private industry. But in just the last 6 months we’ve seen probably the most devastating disasters that occurred because of the lack of regulation from the federal government – Those would be the mine collapse that killed 29 workers, and the oil rig explosion in the Gulf of Mexico that killed 11 workers and is poisoning that entire ecosystem. Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. talks about how our regulatory agencies have been taken captive with his good friend, Senator Sheldon Whitehouse from Rhode Island.
