Republican politicians love to invoke the term “Sharia Law” as the new boogeyman for frightened GOP voters looking for another group to hate. When politician and failed presidential candidate Rick Santorum did just that, a college student had the opportunity and the motivation to push the man to say more.
What this student asked Santorum was a question that most non-Muslim Americans are probably not familiar with, the five tenants of Islam. But when you base your entire career off of poking your finger at an issue, you had better have a pretty decent grasp on what it is you are vilifying.
