We all should have seen this coming considering that the Republican nominee is a birther who accused Barack Obama of being a closeted Muslim and non-American, but now Donald Trump is suggesting that president Obama had something to do with the mass murder of 50 Americans in an Orlando nightclub.
Not wasting any time, the moment Trump heard about the tragedy, he was already on Twitter trying to capitalize on the fear of Americans in order to re-up his anti-Muslim agenda.
Then, on Monday morning, Trump was up bright and early bringing his old birther ways back, insinuating that the president might have had some sort of insider information on the attack in Orlando.
““Our government, we’re led by a man that is a very– look, we’re led by a man that either is not tough, not smart, or he’s got something else in mind. And the something else in mind, people can’t believe it. People cannot — they cannot believe that President Obama is acting the ways he acts and can’t even mention the words ‘radical Islamic terrorism. There’s something going on. It’s inconceivable. There’s something going on.”
Trump of course also made the popular Republican talking-point by saying that clearly, this all could have been prevented if the president had said the magical anti-terrorist phrase: “Radical Islamic terrorism.”
In fact, he takes those three magic words so seriously that he has said he wants Obama to step down as president if he refuses to say it.
For the Republican nominee to publicly question the president on an issue so serious is deeply troubling.
Are we really ready to accept a conspiracy theorist who would make the likes of Alex Jones shake his head into the White House? Is that who we are?
Watch.
