Angel Colon was critically injured during the nightclub shooting having been shot three times, but he owes his life to Orlando officers who pulled him and others like him from the club and rushed them off to the nearby hospital.

Since he was stabilized at the hospital, Colon had been requesting to meet the officer that saved his life so he was overjoyed to see an officer enter his room on Thursday.

“My name is Officer Omar Delgado. I’m one of the ones that helped you get out of harm’s way.”

Colon then held his arms out, wanting to hug the officer.

“I need a big hug.”

ABC News captured this emotional reunion between the survivor and the officer who helped him when he needed it the most.

Afterward, Colon told reporters that he was “so happy.”

“I’ve been wanting to see the man that took me out of that horrible place.”
