Vice President Joe Biden will be traveling to Turkey to restore relations between the US and the Turkish Government after recent tensions developed following the United States’ refusal to extradite a Muslim Cleric that the Turkish government believes to be the mastermind behind the attempted coup in July. RT’s Alexey Yaroshevsky states that America’s largest nuclear warhead stockpile is at the Incirlik Air Base and a recent report from the Stimson Center questions the United States’ ability maintain control over nukes in case of a civil conflict in Turkey. Vice President Biden’s trip also comes weeks after Turkish President Erdogan’s reconciliation with Russian President Vladimir Putin after a Russian jet was shot down by the Turkish Airforce.
