Though insurgent congressional candidate Tim Canova emerged from Tuesday’s Florida primary a loser, he expressed nothing but gratitude to the thousands who had donated to, endorsed, campaign for, and supported him throughout the primary season.

Canova knew that he was fighting an uphill battle from the start against well-established and never-before-challenged Debbie Wasserman Schultz. Though Wasserman Schultz’s political career was mired in controversy after her criminal handling of the Democratic party and her subsequent resignation, this race all came down to the residents of Florida’s 23rd district. Despite the national controversy, those citizens felt that Wasserman Schultz was an adequate representative of their political wishes, and she will remain their congresswoman – for now.

To the thousands who supported Canova nationwide, he had only gratitude to share:

Those who supported Canova should heed those words and remain hopeful. Though Canova has lost, another like him will stand in his foosteps and win. It’s only a matter of time.
