Rather than focusing on important policy questions, Hillary Clinton spent precious campaigning time hanging around with two-bit comedian Zach Galifianakis on his online Funny or Die show “Between Two Ferns.”
Though the president and several A-list celebrities have made appearances on the hit show, it’s not a good look – or a safe bet – for a budding presidential candidate, especially in a moment when most American’s chief concern is national security and foreign policy.
Though Clinton and Trump differ in many ways, Clinton hasn’t really done a good enough job separating her campaign’s policy stances from those of the Trump campaign. Sure, we know that Trump = racist and Clinton = not racist, but besides that, how does the average American know where they differ in policy?
Trump is the most Democratic Republican we’ve had in quite some time, with his personal beliefs leaning far Democrat – though he has tried hard to shift that perception since his entrance into the race.
Rather than spending her time awkwardly sitting next to a comedian whose job it is to make the interviewee look bad, Clinton could have done literally anything else.
But as a recent interview with Campaign spokesperson Robby Mook has clearly shown, the Clinton campaign really doesn’t have the best and brightest running the show. Clinton’s appearance on “Between Two Ferns” won’t likely have much effect on the race at-large, but it shows a lack of judgement that is concerning.
