Now that we are mere hours away from the Vice Presidential debate where about 40 percent of Americans cannot name either candidate, it’s time that we better acquaint ourselves with Donald Trump’s running-mate, who is a lot more dangerous than he looks.

Sure, next to Trump he may seem like a fresh daisy, but Mike Pence is as dark and scheming as the GOP comes. His abysmal record with women’s rights will show you that.

While the nation has moved on from archaic practices like homophobia, Pence has stuck it out, rabidly opposing marriage equality and fighting to keep gay men and women out of the military. Pence was one of many who supported and proposed laws which would allow those uncomfortable with homosexuality to refuse service based on orientation, citing religious liberty as the reason for their blatant discrimination.

When it comes to a woman’s right to choose, Pence takes it to the furthest extreme in opposition. Pence signed a law just this year which would require women who have abortions to basically hold a funeral ceremony for their aborted fetuses. The law would also prevent a woman from obtaining an abortion due to the gender, race, or disability of the fetus. Under Pence’s law, those fetuses that are aborted are then forced to be either buried or cremated in a rabid effort to prevent the donation of fetal tissues.

Pence is also a devoted Koch slave, and has even thrown a bone to the tobacco lobby by arguing that smoking doesn’t kill at all.

There are many other reasons, but these stand out chiefest in his long history of being a true, deep red Republican.

If you are willing to stomach a Trump presidency because of how new and cool he seems (you insane person, you), at least take a hard look at Mike Pence and consider what might happen if something were to happen to a president Trump – would you want this quiet psychopath leading your “new” government?
