In a shocking move, former presidential candidate Carly Fiorina has publicly disavowed Donald Trump, asking that he step down as nominee so that the RNC can replace him with his Vice Presidential selection.

Fiorina is the most significant of many disavowals in the last 24 hours since video of Trump discussing his frequent sexual assault of women became public on Friday.

Joining Fiorina is Utah’s governor Gary Herbert, Senators Mike Lee and Mike Crapo, and congresspeople Martha Roby and Jason Chaffetz.

Fiorina released this statement on Saturday morning, saying that although Republicans have a duty to support the nominee, Donald Trump has not held up his end of the bargain.

It is unclear what Fiorina and others asking for Trump to step down expect to happen; early voting has already begun in several states. Ballots have been printed, and in many instances, mailed out. Even President Obama cast his ballot just this week. It is basically impossible for Trump to back out at this point.

Despite this, we can expect to see more disavowals in the coming days as Republicans try to distance themselves from the Trump trainwreck.
