Wow, Paul Ryan must feel like a real loser now.
On Monday, Michigan governor Rick Snyder, a man who was too evil or stupid to protect his citizens from toxic water, was still bright enough to know better than to throw his lot in with Republican nominee Donald Trump.
The governor who oversaw the widespread lead poisoning of an entire community in his state for two years without taking action apparently does still have a moral floor, and Trump is even too nasty to qualify.
Snyder had already made his disdain for Trump clear back in June when he said he would not be endorsing the Republican nominee. Nonetheless, June seems like a lifetime ago, and the corrupt governor has still not embraced his corrupt party leader.
Ironically, Snyder claimed he wouldn’t weigh in on Trump’s race because he has plenty of important things to take care of in his state – you sure as hell do, Gov, but that didn’t seem to bother you the past two years when you were allowing your constituents to be poisoned.
“If you look at Washington it’s a mess and so what I’ve said is, as governor of Michigan, I have the highest value by making sure Michigan stays on the best track we can so I’ve stayed out of the presidential race. And, I think it’s been a disappointment to many, many people in terms of how negative that’s become, and so I’m staying focused in on the House races.”
Snyder said that he would be voting, but just wouldn’t utter the nasty T word. If only residents in Flint, Michigan could afford to make such flippant middle-of-the-road statements.
