Continuing in his unofficial position as Trump-opposer-in-Chief, Senator Bernie Sanders responded to Trump’s nuclear weapon saber rattling on Friday by calling on Congress to control Trump by whatever means necessary.
Sanders was responding to Trump’s late-night tweet in which he indicated that under his control, the U.S. would enter into an arms race with any nation that steps up, a dangerous comment that made many fear for the future.
Senator Sanders sent out a reply to Trump’s insane tweet, urging Congress to act and control the “Tweeter in Chief.”
Congress must not allow the Tweeter in Chief to unleash a dangerous and costly nuclear arms race. https://t.co/YYdlo3tSoa

Sanders then posted another tweet, attempting to draw common ground for both Republicans and Democrats who, he claims, both want a reduction in nuclear weapons rather than an expansion.
Presidents, Republicans and Democrats, have understood that our goal must be to reduce the number of nuclear weapons, not expand them.

Trump’s promise to begin a nuclear arms race is incredibly concerning for the entire globe, and we hope that Senator Sanders and others will do more in the future to protect the nation from such dangerous outcomes.
