President Trump may have won the presidency, but he has apparently not won his own approval, which is why he insists on continually relitigating the election from three months ago, even as he takes his first steps as President of the United States.

Speaking with members of Congress on his first “working day” in office Monday, Trump insisted on returning to the outcome of the election, claiming that Clinton’s win in the popular vote was due to three to five million illegal votes in her favor.

Why those illegal votes occurred in California instead of a key swing state, no one knows!

Yes, even as he sits on his golden throne and issues sweeping demands via executive order, he still can’t get the boogeyman of his lack of popularity with the American people out of his head. You could almost pity him, if you weren’t so sure he’s preparing to dismantle your rights.

The truth is that this, like so many things private citizen and president Trump have claimed, is an outright lie – and not even a good one. The optics of having even 1 million illegal ballots cast, not to mention as many as FIVE million is mind boggling.

We know through years of observation that voter fraud is incredibly rare, and when it is committed, it is often done by Republicans who think they can prove just how faulty the system is.

In fact, the most recent instance of voter fraud was committed by a woman who mailed in her deceased husband’s absentee ballot, voting for Trump because she claimed that’s what he would have wanted. She was caught – because the system does work.

Trump’s claim that our voting system is so far gone and so “rigged,” that millions of false votes were counted is an outright danger to our Democracy. As Republicans continue to make it harder and harder for many to vote at all, creating a narrative that an election can be so heavily skewed is damaging to the entire system.

President Trump needs to shut the hell up, be grateful that his greedy ass gets to sit in the Oval Office and whine, and get to work.
