Zimbabwe is no longer pursuing extradition of James Walter Palmer, the American dentist who killed Cecil the lion, according to a Zimbabwe Cabinet minister.
According to Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri, Palmer is now free to come and go from Zimbabwe as a tourist as he has been cleared of any wrongdoing. According to Muchinguri-Kashiri, Palmer broke no laws.
Palmer has faced strong criticism for his actions online and at home. Even members of his family have felt threatened. “I don’t understand that level of humanity,” said Palmer. “To come after people not involved at all.”
