“The facts have a well-known liberal bias.”
This quote may be convenient for those of us in the progressive sphere, but you can’t discount the reality that time after time, the things that are intrinsically true tend to be things to which liberals naturally align.
Which is why Mike Papantonio’s fiction thriller “Law and Disorder,” could only take on echoes of progressive politics and anti-right bias. Despite being a story of redemption, corruption, and greed in the fictional sphere, Papantonio’s breakout novel (the first of a series) cannot avoid dabbling in a bit of politics.
And that’s not a detraction from the story, but rather a selling-point! One cannot explore the realm of corporate greed and Big Pharma negligence without acknowledging the role that conservative politics play. This is particularly true when the novel echoes real-life scandals and scenarios as this novel does.
Those who are simply seeking a mindless read without any challenge to their own long-held beliefs should beware: this story is not vapid, airless, or mindless. Rather, it is infused with electric, political energy.
Those who cannot abide that sort of combination in their fiction thrillers might be better off not picking up Papantonio’s second and third installments when they are released.
But as for the rest of us?
Well, we must all bide our time and wait for the next chapter in the story of Deke and the politically corrupt corporations with which he battles.
