In a remote portion of Texas known as Brooks County, mass graves filled with the bodies of immigrants have been uncovered. The immigrants were often buried in little more than a trash bag and the funeral home that ran the operation was charging taxpayers approximately $1,000 per body buried.

A team from Baylor University and the University of Indianapolis are exhuming the bodies to hopefully provide them with a proper burial.

“I just feel like everybody deserves to be mourned properly,” Dr. Krista Latham, one of the professionals working to right this wrongdoing.
