Kim Weaver, Candidate for Congress (D-IA, 4th District) joins Thom. Congressman Steve King of Iowa is a persistent political puzzle. How is it that actual American voters will continue to send to congress a man who is proud to fly a confederate – the rebels who both started and lost the Civil War – flag on his desk, and continually makes racist statements. Kim Weaver is the Democrat challenging King’s re-election in western Iowa, and not only offers a strong progressive agenda but also has some insights into why King’s own constituents by-and-large don’t know how far into David Duke-world he regularly goes.
